IBM provides computers
Virginia Tech Spectrum, April 13, 1995
IBM has given 12 personal computers, worth about $25,000, to the Virginia Tech College of Engineering.
The PC's have full multi-media capabilities to perform high-speed simulation, display high-resolution still images, play videos, and reproduce sound. Engineering faculty members will use the PC's to generate classroom presentations that can help students to better visualize engineering problems, according to Joe Tront, assistant dean for engineering computing.
