McCoy to direct facilities planning
Virginia Tech Spectrum, Nov. 9, 1995F. Spencer Hall, director of the Physical Plant Department, has announced the assignment of Jim McCoy as director of facilities planning and construction.
Hall said part of the Phase II plan for the vice president for finance and treasurer has been directed toward restructuring of functions and administrative duties, with a particular focus on capital-project management. "One of the restructuring changes that has been made within the vice president for finance area is the transfer of leadership of Facilities Planning and Construction into the Physical Plant organization."
Hall said McCoy will "provide leadership to that vital administrative function. Jim has done an excellent job of managing the Renovations Program for the university and I have full confidence that he will continue to provide a high level of service in his new role in Capital Construction."
The Office of the University Architect will continue to concentrate on the traditional planning functions associated with that office.
