FAMILY AND CHILD DEVELOPMENT. Assistant Professor. Assistant Professor in Marital and Family/Human Services

. Tenure-track, nine-month position. Responsibilities include: teaching in the undergraduate human services program; teaching and supervision in the graduate program in marital and family therapy; leadership in the development of applied grant and contract activities; service on departmental and college committees; advising of undergraduate and graduate students; development of active research program. Qualifications: Doctorate in marital and family therapy or related area; AAMFT clinical membership required with approved supervisor designation preferred; commitment to excellence in teaching and in public service; experience in human services teaching and administration; commitment to securing external funding. NON-INSTRUCTIONAL

RESEARCH AND GRADUATE STUDIES. Associate Provost for Interdisciplinary Programs.

This is a half-time, calendar-year position in Research and Graduate Studies (RGS) and reports directly to the vice provost for research/dean of the Graduate School. The person appointed will be a tenured professor from a discipline in which interdisciplinary research is a common practice. The successful applicant will have a proven record of participation in interdisciplinary research and graduate education. The duties and responsibilities of the position will include: working with the directors of existing centers and institutes to promote interdisciplinary research and graduate education; provide oversight and establish a reporting relationship with university centers and institute directors in a manner analogous to that of department heads to deans; initiate and provide support for interdisciplinary funding proposals; identify new program areas where interdisciplinary activities would seem fruitful; assist faculty members to organize interdisciplinary teams; and generally encourage and support interdisciplinary research and graduate education across the campus. The incumbent will interact on a regular basis with the associate provost for program development to help identify program and funding opportunities for interdisciplinary activities. The position will have other duties, committee/commission assignments, and external appointments as deemed appropriate by the vice provost for research/dean of the Graduate School. PROGRAM DEVELOPMENT OF THE DIVISION OF CONTINUING EDUCATION. Assistant Director(s) for Program Development.

These are administrative faculty positions with academic rank of instructor. They are non-tenured positions. Master's degree required; doctorate preferred. Work location is Blacksburg. CENTER FOR COAL AND MINERALS PROCESSING. Project Manager.

The successful candidate will serve as the project manager for all of the center's sponsored research projects. Responsibilities will include: i) preparation of pre-award research budgets, ii) negotiation of contracts with sponsors and subcontractors, iii) monitoring and execution of research expenditures, and iv) preparation of monthly and/or quarterly management reports. Other duties include: supervision of office staff, facilitating communication with various sponsors, on and off-campus conference management, and coordinating preparation of brochures and newsletters. Good oral/written communication skills and strong interpersonal skills are required. Baccalaureate degree is required. The position is a special faculty appointment equivalent to grant administrator (Grade 10) with salary in the range of $25,000-38,000 depending on experience.
