Media Center restricts reserves

Spectrum Volume 19 Issue 14 - December 5, 1996

Newman Library's Media Center announces two changes affecting faculty members: After much consideration and many requests, the Media Center has decided to place restrictions upon its reserve service.

Beginning next semester professors will be restricted to a maximum of 10 Media Center items on reserve at a time (there is no limit on personal items). Additionally, the duration of time for which items can be placed on reserve will be limited to four weeks.

Another change already in effect is re-location of the Media Center's phonograph disc collection. In an effort to deal with a relentless space shortage, the albums have been moved to the remote storage building. The albums are still available-it will just take a bit longer to retrieve them.

Patrons wishing to listen to a phonograph disc must request it at the Media Center counter. Requests made by noon will be filled by late afternoon of the same day. Those requests placed after noon will be filled early the following morning.
