The Outreach Division. Assistant to the Vice Provost for Outreach . The successful candidate will be responsible for directing the planning, formulation, evaluation, and coordination of the biennial and annual operating budgets for the division. Other responsibilities will include but not be limited to preparing long-term revenue/expense forecasts and other financial reports, providing oversight to divisional payroll, grants and contracts, accounts payable and receivable; maintaining databases of the division's financial and personnel resources; managing all financial and personnel allocations and transfers within the university system; serve as financial liaison with the Office of the University Controller and coordinate divisional financial activities with other departments as necessary. The incumbent will report to the vice provost for outreach and will represent the division on university financial committees. Applicants must have demonstrated ability to communicate and work effectively with divisional administrators, faculty and staff members. Applicants must possess a baccalaureate degree (master's preferred) in business, finance, management, educational administration, or related field. A minimum of five years experience in financial/personnel management with an academic institution is required. Preference will be given to candidates with knowledge and experience in budgeting or accounting and computer literacy in mainframe and microcomputer environments with financial management application software. Department of Recreational Sports. Coordinator for Extramural Sports Clubs. Position is twelve-month professional staff position, salaried with full state benefits. The coordinator for extramural sports clubs plans, organizes, and controls the Extramural Sports Federation program. The coordinator will provide comprehensive, well-organized, and satisfying sports activities and competition through the federation. Currently, the federation is comprised of 19 sports clubs. Included within the scope of the federation program are budgeting and account management, supervising field activity and conditions, marketing and promoting sports clubs to the university community, leadership development, and program assessment. Qualifications: Master's degree required or imminent (not later than June 30, 1998) in sports administration, recreation, physical education or related field; one or more years of graduate or professional experience in a recreational-sports setting; experience in sports-club-program administration desired; good interpersonal skills required; and computer experience in an IBM environment desired. Salary is between $24,000-$26,000, commensurate with qualifications. Starting date is June 15, 1998.
