Worley joins continuing ed

By Catherine Doss

Laura Worley has joined the Division of Continuing Education as a program developer at Virginia Tech's Northern Virginia Center in Falls Church. Her efforts will be focused on assisting with marketing the university's new information-technology graduate and certificate program.
"We're committed to making this program a success," Worley said. "I'll be working with technology companies in the northern-Virginia area to generate interest and enrollment."
Most recently, Worley was assistant director of marketing and conference services with Virginia Tech's residential dining programs. She has a master's degree in hospitality and tourism management and worked as an intern in continuing education during spring semester 1998.
The new graduate program is a joint effort between the College of Engineering, the College of Arts and Sciences, and the Pamplin College of Business and was developed in response to various studies that indicate a need for workforce training in information technology.
