The color illustration on the cover of the Bulletin shows R. lacteum growing in the garden of Del James. Mr. and Mrs. James' article "Notes on Rhododendron Lacteum" appears in this edition of the Bulletin, and some of the particulars of this plant are explained.

R. lacteum is a very rare plant on the west coast, and has to the editor's knowledge only been bloomed in the garden at the University of California, and some years ago in the Seattle area. The color transparency was loaned to the Society by Mr. James.
