Nomination Of Officers of the American Rhododendron Society

The committee an nominations appointed by the President, nominates the following members to fill the six vacancies of the Board of Directors of the American Rhododendron Society:

O. R. NEST - Oak Grove, Oregon

Incumbent; wholesale automotive parts salesman; rhododendron fancier and collector, has done much work in setting up Portland ARS shows and is active in development of Trial Garden and Exhibition Cool House.

C. T. HANSEN - Portland, Oregon

Incumbent; draftsman for Bonneville Power Administration; rhododendron fancier and collector, always active in ARS shows, chairman of committee for development of Trial Garden and designed Exhibition-Cool House, which is now completed.

CARL FAWCETT - Tacoma, Washington

Incumbent; jeweler; past president Tacoma Chapter ARS, rhododendron fancier and collector especially interested in dwarf varieties, always interested in promoting activities of ARS.

JOHN HENNY - Brooks, Oregon

Incumbent; nurseryman; past president of ARS, hybridizer, long active in promotion of genus Rhododendron .

J. HAROLD CLARKE - Long Beach, Washington

Incumbent; propagator and grower of rhododendrons; Ph.D. in Horticulture, headed committees on nomenclature, naming and rating, Editor of Yearbook of ARS, President Portland Chapter.

CECIL SMITH - Aurora, Oregon

Farmer; past member of Board of Directors; rhododendron fancier and collector especially interested in species; has delightful rhododendron garden; always active in setting up Portland ARS shows.

GEORGE DRAKE - Portland, Oregon

Building contractor; rhododendron fancier and collector; past Secretary of ARS and past member of Board of Directors; took very active interest in development of Exhibition-Cool House at test garden.

DONALD K. McCLURE - Seattle, Washington

Vice President of the Prudential Mutual Savings Bank. President of the Seattle Chapter A.R.S. Interested in hybrids. Mr. McClure has many of the new hybrids in his fin: garden. A hybridizer in his own right.

SUMNER WILLIAMS - Portland, Oregon

Incumbent, long active in the development of the Trial Garden.
