QBARS - v17n3 Rudolph Henny, 1909-1963

Rudolph Henny, 1909-1963

A great loss was suffered by the American Rhododendron Society, and the cause of rhododendrons in general when Rudolph Henny passed away on June third after a short illness.

He is survived by his wife, Leona, a son, Dr. Rudolph Henny, a granddaughter Amy Ann, his mother Mrs. Lena Henny, four brothers, John, Frank, Millard, and Joseph, and two sisters, Mrs. Clarence Zielinski and Mrs. Richard Hart. Services were at the Sacred Heart Church in Gervais, Ore., with interment at the Sacred Heart Cemetery.

To prepare a reasonably complete account of his work with rhododendrons and the varieties he has originated will require time and effort. It is hoped that this will be done, and published in a later issue, possibly as a Memorial number of the Bulletin.
