QBARS - v18n2 By-Laws

By-Laws Revisions Turned Down

All of the proposed revisions on which the members were asked to vote recently were turned down according to the ballot count. The total vote was very light, less than 300 or only slightly over 10% of the membership. This light vote would indicate at least that a large part of the membership did not feel that the proposed changes were particularly objectionable or they would have voted against them. Many of the proposed amendments were simply corrections in wording, elimination of committees which have not functioned for years, and other housekeeping changes. As the Board of Directors, which has given a great deal of thought to many of these problems, had voted unanimously in favor of the changes as presented to the members, it would seem that this is a matter which should be given continuing study and attention.
