QBARS - v21n2 Visitors from New Zealand
Visitors From New Zealand
Several Chapters on the West Coast are looking forward to a visit from about seventy rhododendron fans from New Zealand this spring. Various Chapters were approached in December, 1966, and an itinerary worked out. The New Zealanders will be under the leadership of Mr. Harold J. Marchant, Cardiff, Taranaki, New Zealand. Mr. Marchant is a non-commercial grower with one of the largest collections in New Zealand. He lives on the north island.
The group will arrive in Los Angeles on April 21 and visit Disneyland, Knott's Berry Farm, the Huntington Library, and then go to Phoenix, Arizona, the Grand Canyon, Las Vegas, and then to San Francisco. After that they will visit Yosemite, the Redwoods, Fort Bragg, Eureka, Oregon State University at Corvallis, Oregon, Portland, Seattle, Victoria, Vancouver, Honolulu and return on May 20. They will be at Eugene at the time of the Chapter Show, May 13-15, in Portland May 1517 and Seattle May 17-20. We hope to have an account of this interesting group in our next issue.
