PRINCETON CHAPTER BRONZE MEDAL CITATION

Be it recalled among us with some awe that CHARLES CLAUS BAHRENBURG has among other things accomplished the following: That he alone procured our present delightful meeting place and the spacious adjacent plot for our Display Garden site; that he served truly with distinction and dedication as our Chapter President in '66, '67 and '68; that he has been on or advisor to nearly every committee; that he constructed and oriented our Nearing Frame, and planted or helped plant every rhododendron in the Garden at least once, and moved many twice and three times; that he has come forward to perform such odd jobs as sale auctioneer and show organizer; and that most of all he has welcomed hesitant and timid stranger and Chapter regular alike with extended hand and the friendliest of smiles. It is therefore with deep appreciation that we bestow upon him the highest award of the Chapter, our Bronze Medal.

It is seemly to recount that among us, ELIZABETH ECKMAN KELIUS, has accomplished or participated in unusual and outstanding events, as well as all manner of day-to-day Chapter chores, to wit: provided knowledge, know-how, and assistance attendant to the launching of Princeton Chapter; that she was in possession of this vital knowledge because she had gathered information needed to spur organization of Philadelphia Chapter, and had served as its first president; that she has either chaired or served on many key committees, including the Flower Show committee; that with her sound knowledge of the many species and varieties, she has shouldered the exacting responsibilities of Flower Show clerk and Flower Show judge; that she has provided willing hands for all manner of job, including at the moment Recording Secretary; and that because most of all she is a staunch and true friend, we affectionately distinguish her with our highest Chapter order, the Bronze Medal.
