Vancouver Chapter Bronze Medal Award Citation

ED TRAYLING

Ed Trayling Receives Award
FIG. 67. Mr. Ed Trayling, on the left re-
ceiving the Bronze Medal from
Mr. Fred Collins, president of
the Vancouver Chapter.

The Vancouver Chapter has made its first award of the Society's Bronze Medal to one of its pioneer members, Mr. Ed Trayling.

In making the nomination for this award, the Vancouver Chapter's Executive found no difficulty whatever in coming to a unanimous conclusion as to the unique qualifications of Mr. Trayling for this honour.

Ed Trayling has been associated with the Vancouver Chapter almost from its inception and for the whole of his association he has demonstrated in every way his outstanding dedication to the success and progress of the Chapter.

Ed Trayling is a very knowledgeable and industrious member who combines his enviable skills with a most unusual generosity in making the benefits of them available to his fellow members.

He has long served on the Executive Committee and contributed mightily to the management and direction of the Chapter. Far beyond this, he has participated actively in almost every program and undertaking of the Chapter with particular emphasis on the annual show and the contributions of the Chapter at the annual meetings of the Society.

There is scarcely a member of the Vancouver Chapter who has not sought and been readily granted comfort and assistance by Ed Trayling on the myriad problems that arise in our gardens.

In all of his history of unfailing and good natured help to the members he has been consistently supported by Mrs. Trayling who should indeed have honourable mention in the annals of the Chapter.

It is with great pride that the Vancouver Chapter presents the Society's Medal for distinguished service to this Chapter to Mr. Trayling.
