'Allure' , C.A. ( simsii x mucronatum ) Azalea. Hybridized by Morrison, Glenn Dale, N. Y. Exhibited by Betty Hager, Albertson, Long Island, N.Y. Flowers 2 5 /8 " openly funnel-shaped in a flat truss of 4-8. Blue-red 68C veined 66D. Plant compact and spreading, 3' x 6½' in 22 years. Blooms early May. Direct nomination.

Portland Chapter
'Award' , C.A. ('Anna' x 'Margaret Dunn'). Cross by Del James. Exhibited by Cyril H. Ward, Vancouver, Washington. Flowers 4" across, fragrant, widely funnel-shaped to nearly funnel rotate, in a ball-shaped truss of 12 to 15. White with light yellow flare in throat, pink shading on margins, 56D to B. Plant 6' x 6' at 12 years. New growth has bronze tinge. E. L. 1969. Late May.

'Peppermint Stick' , C.A. ('Mosers Maroon' x yakushimanum ). Cross by Ben Lancaster. Exhibited by Thomas McGuire, Portland, Ore. Flowers 2½" in diameter, wide funnel-shaped, in a domed truss of 17. White edged pink 57D. Plant 34" high and 40" wide in ten years. Foliage medium green with thin light brown indumentum. Mid to late May. E. L. 1971.

'Siuslaw' , C.A. ('Hugh Wormald' x 'Marion Merriman'). Produced and exhibited by H. J. Slonecker, Milwaukie, Oregon. Azalea. Flowers 3½", widely funnel-shaped to nearly flat, in a spherical truss of 9 to 12. Yellow 13C to 13B with upper petals yellow-orange 23A. Plant upright habit, 7' high by 4' wide in 15 years. Foliage light green with some bronze tinging. Mid May. E. L. 1970.

'Yaquina' , C.A. ('Hugh Wormald' x 'Marion Merriman'). Produced and exhibited by H. J. Slonecker, Milwaukie, Oregon. Azalea. Flowers 3½ - 4", flat faced with nearly closed tube ¾" long, in a spherical truss of 9-12. Yellow 12B with upper petal yellow-orange 23A. Plant 8' high by 6' wide in 15 years. Foliage light green. Mid to late May. E. L. 1969.
