Abstract
The author states his objective in his research was to investigate the use of dikegulac-sodium (Atrinal®), Off-Shoot-O, manual pinched and combinations of Atrinal and pinched on shoot development, flower bud formation, and rooting, in three cultivars of azaleas, 'Snow', 'Fashion’ and 'Hinodigiri' in 1 gal containers. Chemicals were sprayed to run-off. Treatments were evaluated for number of new shoots/stem after 8 weeks and no. of flower buds/ stems were collected 14 wks after treatment. The results suggested that Atrinal treatments gave increased branching compared to Off-Shoot-O or manual pinched. Atrinal or Atrinal + pinched gave the largest number of flower buds/new shoot over the other treatments.
