Tip: Leaf Chlorosis

If you have a plant with dark green leaf veins on yellow leaves, it probably has chlorosis. This can be caused by lack of iron, but other causes include damage to the roots in the form of root rot, severe cutting of the roots, root weevils, or root death cause by extreme doses of fertilizer.
Clint Smith of Benjamin of Sumner, Wash., recommends a mixture of 1 gallon water, 2 tablespoons Epsom salts, 1 tablespoon iron chelate. Wet the root ball three times every two weeks in the growing season while new growth is forming.
