REDWOOD EMPIRE CHAPTER

Mike Jones

In appreciation of the many tasks you have performed for the Redwood Empire Chapter including serving as our president, vice president and secretary; for your unwavering support and hard work on all aspects of our annual flower shows; for your generosity in growing plants for, and transporting them to, our meetings; for your constant, overall enthusiasm for rhododendrons and azaleas; and for your willingness to do whatever job was asked of you, with our deepest appreciation, we present to you our highest chapter award, the Bronze Medal.

SEATTLE CHAPTER

Don King

The Seattle Rhododendron Society (SRS) is honored to present its highest award, the Bronze Medal, to Don King. Don has been a tireless and devoted worker on behalf of the Seattle Rhododendron Society. His organizational ability and meticulous attention to detail have earned him the respect and admiration of all members of the SRS. In the pursuit of his greatest love, species rhododendrons, Don has twice journeyed to China and once to Sikkim. Among many other contributions to the Seattle Rhododendron Society, Don has been president of the Species Study Group and recently completed a most successful term as president of the SRS and a three-year term as president of the Rhododendron Species Botanical Garden. This award is presented as a token of our appreciation. The Seattle Rhododendron Society is fortunate to have you as a talented and willing volunteer.

Bruce Leber

The Seattle Rhododendron Society (SRS) is honored to present posthumously, the Bronze Medal to Bruce E. Leber. Bruce was active for many years in the Species Study Group, assisted in many capacities in both the SRS competitive shows and served for two terms on the Chapter's board of directors. He accompanied the Warren Berg 1989 expedition to Yunnan Province, China. Because of his technical background as a chemist, Bruce was qualified and eager to provide the skills for soil sampling and testing on this trip and thereby contributed to the understanding of the conditions under which these rhododendrons are growing. Bruce was a caring and generous person and was always among the first to volunteer when help was needed. We miss you, Bruce.
