JARS v51n2 - In Memoriam: Ralph Bullard
In Memoriam: Ralph Bullard
Ralph Bullard, immediate past president of the Azalea Chapter, died Feb. 19, 1997. He served as vice-president 1992-1994, then as president 1994-1996. He had also served as vice-president of the Oconee Chapter, Azalea Society of America, and as president of the Georgia Iris Society. He was active in the Daffodil Society and the Boy Scouts of America..
To Ralph was an avid horticulturist, having over 600 different varieties of azaleas in his garden. He was retired from the National Parks Service and had been instrumental in the purchase of the Chattahoochee National Recreation Area during Gov. Jimmy Carter's term of office..
He was a worker in the Azalea chapter, not an observer, and he will be missed.
