In Memoriam: Walter D. Elliott

Mr. Elliott was a founding member of the Shelton Chapter of the American Rhododendron Society and served as chapter president a number of times. His leadership over the years encouraged many residents of Shelton and Mason County to become rhododendron enthusiasts. He was well known for his rhododendron hybrids, many of which have been registered and propagated. He had a passion for donating his best rhododendrons to landscape public projects. Because of persistent efforts rhododendrons enhance the landscape of Olympic College, the Shelton Library, the Shelton Post Office, schools and Mason County Fairgrounds.
