In Memoriam: James W. Wood
Bob George
Issaquah, WA

On Nov. 18, 1998, the Cascade Chapter lost one of its founding members, James W. Wood of Kenmore, Wash. He died peacefully at home in Bothell, Wash., after a short illness.

Jim was born Jan. 22, 1925, in Seattle, Wash. His hobbies were hiking, climbing, and growing vegetables and flowers. After his retirement from the Washington State Department of Fisheries in 1985, he became an even more enthusiastic gardener, adding many rhododendrons to the beautiful garden he and his wife, Doris, shared. Jim and Doris attended our chapter meetings and shared with fellow members the experiences learned over a lifetime. Jim was always friendly and cheerful. He will be greatly missed.
