JARS v55n2 - ARS Northeastern Regional Conference
ARS Northeastern Regional Conference
Marianne S. Feller
Old Field, New York
All rhododendron enthusiasts are cordially invited to attend the Northeastern Regional Conference which will take place on Nov. 2 through 4, 2001. With assistance from the Princeton and Tappan Zee chapters, the New York Chapter will host "Fifty Years in Bloom" on Long Island, New York, at the recently renovated Holiday Inn and Conference Center, located at Islip/MacArthur Airport in Ronkonkoma. Traditional hospitality awaits you in the spacious but intimate and unhurried atmosphere at this facility.
A diverse and stimulating program is planned to satisfy all—seasoned veterans and those new to the art of rhododendron culture alike. The conference will focus on the exciting variety of rhododendrons grown successfully in the Northeast. Individuals of broad experience have agreed to speak, including Margery Daughtrey of the Suffolk County Cornell Cooperative Extension; H. Edward Reiley, ARS Eastern Vice President and author of the book Success with Rhododendrons and Azaleas; and Dr. Philip Waldman of Roslyn Nursery, Inc. Others will be on the program as well.
