Jack D. Ramsey, 86, of Boise, Idaho, and formerly of Tenino, Washington, died Tuesday, April 13, 2004, at Boise Samaritan Village in Boise after a long illness. He attended schools in Prosser, Washington, earned his Eagle Scout award when he was 12 years old and graduated from Prosser High School as Valedictorian of the Class of 1936. He attended WSU in Pullman and graduated from there in 1940 with a bachelor's degree in agriculture. He married Stella Perrin on November 23, 1941, in Walla Walla, Washington. In addition to helping with chapter activities and work projects at the chapter's rhododendron garden at Borst Park, Jack faithfully purchased and provided plants for chapter plant sales and auctions. He and Stella were awarded the Bronze Medal in 1993 in appreciation of their many years of service to the chapter. In 2001 they moved to Boise, Idaho, but continued their chapter membership.
Jack is survived by his wife, Stella, other relatives, including an aunt, sister-in-law, brother-in-law, a nephew, and many cousins. Jack is remembered as a good-humored, knowledgeable, kind, sharing person.
