In Memoriam: Paul Frank Fabio
Paul Frank Fabio passed away in Mooresville, North Carolina, on July 20, 2007. He was born on July 21, 1927, and raised in the Fordham section of the Bronx, New York. He resided the last thirteen years on Lake Norman in Mooresville. Paul was a graduate of Theodore Roosevelt High School and City College of New York and earned a master's degree in chemistry at Stevens Institute. He was employed as an organic research chemist with American Cyanamid at the Lederle Laboratories Division in Pearl River, N.Y., for forty-two years. He and his wife, Nan, raised their four sons in Pearl River until their move to North Carolina in 1994.
Paul served as the president of the Tappan Zee Chapter of the ARS and was a Master Gardener. As a member of the Lederle Employee Recreation Association, he actively participated in its garden club. He also had a love of classical music, especially Beethoven, which he encouraged his children to enjoy.
Paul was proud of his Sicilian heritage and had the opportunity a number of times to visit the birthplaces of his parents in Galati Mamertino and Corleone, Sicily.
Paul is survived by his wife, Nan, of 49 years and four sons.
