Bronze Medal Awards
EUGENE CHAPTER
The certificate reads, "In recognition of your dedicated efforts as Webmaster, your Plant Sale endeavors, your friendship and sense of humor, your generous baking of ham entrees and teaching of computer skills, and your contributions of superb rhododendron photography." Our appreciation for his dedicated service, kindness, friendship and willingness to help wherever needed, especially as the chapter's webmaster for all these years is great and we are most grateful to Rudy. So it is with affection that we present this award at the Annual Awards Banquet on April 10, 2010.
Bronze Medal: Rudy Fecteau
The Eugene Chapter of the American Rhododendron Society is pleased to present the Bronze Medal to Rudy Fecteau to acknowledge his many contributions to our Chapter. A member of the ARS for many years, he has served multiple terms on the Board of Directors and as an enthusiastic and willing volunteer and supporter of all the chapter's activities.NANAIMO CHAPTER
Bronze Medal: Paul Lawry
It is with great pleasure that the Nanaimo Rhododendron Society awards Paul Lawry the Bronze Medal for his service to our society. Soon after joining the club in 1997, Paul became our newsletter editor, a position that he shared with his wife, Linda, for the next 7 years. He has served on our Executive for more that 6 years, first as Director, then as Vice President and most recently as President. He and his wife Linda have been important contributors to our club through committees and events, including our annual auction, truss show and plant sale. Paul has been a great ambassador for our club.OLYMPIA CHAPTER
Coralie has faithfully filled the position of Hospitality Chair for several years. The Hospitality Chair is responsible to see that the coffee and water for other beverages is ready before every meeting. The supplies are also stored at their home. Coralie also makes purchases to make sure our members have refreshments. This has been done without fail while Coralie has been in charge of this important function. She has also helped plan our Holiday Party in December, creating lovely centerpieces, buying prizes, and helping to decorate. Roy and Coralie have also been very active in other ways with our chapter. They have been involved in many chapter projects, which include the following examples: Organizing the May show, helping to paint the stands for our May Show, transporting the stands to the May Show, picking up and transporting plants to the May Show, cleaning up at Tumwater Falls Park the first Saturday in March, hosting the chapter picnic in summer, helping with the Junior League show at St. Martin's. When the show was over at St. Martin's, Roy organized a re-potting party of the leftover rhodies to plant into larger pots, so the plants could continue to grow and be healthy. He also stored these plants at his home. This enabled the chapter to use them in the future for the March auction, as door prizes, as a gift for new members, for example. Coralie and Roy are valuable members of our chapter. I am nominating them for the Bronze Medal for the Olympia Chapter of the American Rhododendron Society because I want them to know how much they mean to us. Bronze Medal presented to Roy and Coralie Praeger April 15, 2010. -- Connie Klein

Coralie and Roy are steadfast and dedicated members.
