This book is the first comprehensive work on the handling and transport of livestock and covers the subject from both economic and animal welfare viewpoints. All the main farm animals including poultry are covered. There are also chapters on behavioral principles of handling and transport and general principles of stress and welfare. The book contains extensive references to both scientific literature and producer publications. It should be of value to all concerned with the improving the handling and transportation of livestock and poultry.
