QBARS - v24n1 Eastern Chapter to Meet in Norfolk

EASTERN CHAPTERS TO MEET IN NORFOLK May 8-9-10, 1970

In an effort to congeal enthusiasm, understanding, fellowship and a fine interchange of ideas and facilities pertaining to rhododendrons, the Middle Atlantic Chapter and the Tidewater Chapter of the A.R.S. are sponsoring a meeting of all the Eastern Chapters in Norfolk, Va., Friday, Saturday, and Sunday, May 8-9-10, 1970.

This will be an outstanding event which will include on Friday an all day tour, a reception, banquet and address. On Saturday, there will be morning and afternoon lecture sessions with a Rhododendron Show staged by the Tidewater Chapter at the Norfolk Botanic Garden interspersed between. On Saturday evening there will be a reception, a dinner and addresses. Sunday will afford an extended visit to the Norfolk Botanic Garden.

There will be nine nationally recognized speakers. The housing and meeting facilities are extremely acceptable. It is hoped we may report favorably to the National Organization that such a meeting is very desirable and can be a huge success. It will be hoped also that a strong attendance this year will assure the making of this an annual affair among the Eastern Chapters.

Details will be sent to each member of the Eastern area soon. In the meantime, if you desire information to facilitate your making spring plans, you may contact  Dr. Thomas Wheeldon, Secy. Middle Atlantic Chapter, A.R.S.
