JARS v40n2 - Ed Parker, Plant Registrar, Retires
Ed Parker, Plant Registrar, Retires
Ed Egan
Tigard, Oregon
After fifteen years of loyal service to the American Rhododendron Society, Ed Parker has resigned as Plant Registrar. Ed's loyal dedication to this important job has made it possible for all hybridizers to name and register their newest creations. The hours and hours of time spent searching records and writing letters has been a totally volunteer effort. The detailed scrutiny of each application, to be sure it met all the International Standards, required great persistence and love for accuracy. In 1981, Ed was awarded the Society's highest award, the Gold Medal, for his many years of devoted service.
All of us wish Ed great happiness with his continued growing of select forms of Rhododendron . I would like to publicly express my deep appreciation for all of Ed's help while I was Editor.
