As chairman of our Case Estates Display Garden committee, in which your leadership has provided the Chapter with a sound plan for the garden's development and is effecting its successful execution,
As implementer of an annual plant sale to provide needed funds for the garden,

As a loyal and devoted member, sharing your knowledge and enthusiasm with all.

T. Richard Leonard
Your dedication has manifested itself in many ways since the inception of the Chapter:
As a director, guiding the Chapter during its formative years,
As landscape architect for our Westfield display garden and for future development of our Westfield display garden,
As designer of our annual exhibits at the Boston Flower Show, garnering well-deserved recognition for the excellence of their conception and execution, and reflecting credit on the Chapter and the genus,
As organizer of a corps of Chapter members to staff the exhibits and disseminate information about the genus and the Society.

For your loyal service, and your sound judgment delivered with quiet modesty, we are all grateful. The Massachusetts Chapter is honored to present you its highest award, the Bronze Medal of the Society - April 10, 1987.

PORTLAND CHAPTER
Joy Heaney
In appreciation for many, many hours of work in the Crystal Springs Rhododendron Garden,
For faithful attendance at Board meetings and service as an elected member of the Board of Directors,
For being Membership Chairman,
For serving as Chairman of the Mother's Day Show,
For countless hours and several years editing the "Rhododendron News" and for her willingness to work in many ways for the benefit of the Portland Chapter of the American Rhododendron Society,

TUALATIN VALLEY CHAPTER
Robert Ross
A founding member of the Tualatin Valley Chapter and an original member and helpful resource for the Chapter Study Group, Robert Ross has shared his knowledge in various meeting programs and articles in the Chapter bulletin, "The Rhody Runner". In partnership with Dallas Boge under a grant from the Research Foundation of the American Rhododendron Society, Bob is searching various populations of R. macrophyllum to find and introduce new, unusual and superior forms of this Pacific Northwest native to gardeners and hybridizers throughout the rhododendron world. Bob's outstanding service to the Chapter is his vision of, design of, leadership of and labor for the Chapter Garden at the Jenkins Estate. The Tualatin Valley Chapter is proud to present the Bronze Medal of the American Rhododendron Society to Robert Ross, May 15, 1987.

WILLAMETTE CHAPTER

As an expression of our respect and appreciation,
For your leadership, time and effort provided to establish, charter and develop this chapter;
For your sincere and tireless enthusiasm for rhododendrons and the Society shown at meetings, shows and chapter functions;
For your willingness to share plants, knowledge, ideas, your home and garden at summer events;

For being a charter and life member of Willamette Chapter;
