As I sat down to write a column, memory of Ed Reiley was going through my head. I was fortunate to have visited his beautiful garden and enjoyed reading his most informative and comprehensive books on rhododendron and azalea culture. The ARS has lost a giant in the field and my deepest sympathies go to his wife Mary, daughter Susan and the rest of Reiley family.
I echo Fred's impressions of the Tulsa convention, which I found intimate, informative and just plain fun. Congratulations to a handful of Ozark Chapter members for their hard work.
Many of you will be pleased to know that we are going to print a complete membership list, once again after a few years of absence. We would like to include information on "members' gardens to visit" listed by states/provinces.
Bob MacIntyre of Southwestern Oregon has volunteered to compile information on gardens of Oregon. Anyone else willing to do the same in your area please send the information to my office as soon as possible. We need just a short description of the garden, owner's name, address, preferred times of visit, or by appointment and contact information.
