University Volume Two Bookstore is operated by Virginia Tech Services Inc. Virginia Tech Services Inc. is a nonprofit corporation that was created in 1968 and provides textbooks, general books, supplies, computer supplies, software and services to the university community.
Virginia Tech Services Inc. operates the University Bookstore, Dietrick General Store, Student Services Store, University Volume Two Bookstore, the Northern Virginia Graduate Center, the Golf Shop, campus vending services, student laundromats, and food and gift concessions.
Funds from these operations are transferred to the university for scholarships and facility improvements. Since 1968, more than $18.5 million dollars has been transferred for such uses.
The Volume Two Textbook Department offers a full range of new and used textbooks, course packs, and supplemental class materials. The Textbook Department buys back textbooks daily. An additional service offered is the textbook reservation system. This service gives entering students the option of placing their textbook order in advance (during designated periods) and having the order held for them until they begin school. This helps avoid the search for books during the first busy days of the semester.
The service is provided at no cost. Both the University Volume Two Bookstore and on-campus University Bookstore location discount new textbooks 10 percent , saving students thousands of dollars. It is the only store to do this in comparison to other colleges and universities across the country.
The Clothing and Gifts Department offers a wide selection of official Virginia Tech clothing and unique gift items to the university community. These include t-shirts, sweatshirts, shorts, caps, mugs, umbrellas, picture frames, and stuffed animals.
