ASSOCIATE DIRECTOR, CASH OPERATIONS (Food Operations Director B)
(1745R) Culinary Services. Normal Starting Pay: $32,027 (Grade 13)Complete management responsibilities for cash food-sales units with a sales volume of $8,000,000 per annum. Responsible for human-resource management and for reviewing, monitoring, evaluating and analyzing data to improve and control food and labor cost and other budget items. Identifies customer trends and designs market strategies. Proposes new or expanding product lines. Creates, designs, and writes menus and pricing structure. With the assistance of the catering manager, has final responsibility for the catering function. Interacts with students and university officials. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: Comprehensive knowledge of the management principles for operating cash food operations, catering, and restaurants; degree in hotel, restaurant, institutional management or similar field or equivalent experience; extensive experience in retail commercial food service with demonstrated advancement; moderate experience in catering, food service and commercial restaurant or fast food/quick service or any combination of work in these areas. WITH PREFERENCE GIVEN FOR: Experience in licensing, building and operating Nationally Branded Concepts in an educational environment or similar situation; knowledge of the aspects of marketing, advertising and promotions; experience with UNIQUEST inventory management system and Griffin software programs or similar systems; experience as a director of dining services, leading a full-service dining program. FOOD PRODUCTION WORKER B (1st Cook)
(1260R) Culinary Services. Normal Starting Pay: $15,703 (Grade 5)Supervises daily meal production and performs all duties pertaining to the meal, making decisions as to the menu preparation to meet quality standards in sufficient quantities in a timely fashion while keeping a high sanitation level. Oversees and assigns duties to cooks and kitchen staff, including potwash. Responsible for supervising and training cooks during operation. Monitors cooks in preparation of products; monitors quality and appearance of foods on serving lines. Trains employees in safety, sanitation and standard procedures. Maintains records of amount of food prepared and left over; maintains daily physical inventory, checking on orders and confirming menu items are on hand. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: Experience in quantity-cooking and food-preparation practices; skill in operating various types of cooking equipment; good communication skills; ability to work effectively with a variety of people; ability to safely move and handle items weighing up to 60 lbs.; knowledge of basic math; organization skills. WITH PREFERENCE GIVEN FOR: Supervisory experience. FULL-TIME POSITION. Work schedule varies to include nights and weekends. Application deadline: May 19.
PROGRAM SUPPORT TECHNICIAN
(6444D) Client Systems Development and Support. Normal Starting Pay: $8,583 (Grade 6)Provides support for Macintosh distribution and training programs. Researches software and hardware costs and contracts. Maintains database of inventory, assuring supplies of hardware and software are adequate to meet program needs. Edits training materials and other documents. Assists students in Macintosh seminars and performs system configuration and software installation. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: Knowledge of Macintosh operating system, word processing, spreadsheets and of using and creating FileMaker Pro databases. Editing experience. Ability to work independently with good organizational skills and attention to detail. WITH PREFERENCE GIVEN FOR: Experience in a computing consulting environment. Familiarity with university or similar procurement procedures and policies. PART-TIME POSITION. 20 hrs per week. Application deadline: May 19.
