INSTRUCTIONAL

DEPARTMENT OF CHEMICAL ENGINEERING. The Joseph H. Collie Chair. The department seeks an individual with a commitment to excellence in undergraduate and graduate teaching, and the potential for developing a strong, externally sponsored research program. Teaching duties will include required courses in the chemical engineering program, especially in design and economics. In addition, the chair will help organize and administer a new program in chemical distribution and marketing. The Chemical Engineering Department welcomes applications from individuals with industrial experience in the areas of design and/or chemical distribution and marketing. NON-INSTRUCTIONAL

CENTER FOR TRANSPORTATION RESEARCH. Information Coordinator. The successful applicant will be responsible for editing technical documents such as proposals, reports, and papers; developing promotional material such as newsletters, brochures, and annual reports; and acting as liaison with the media. Other duties include promoting the center's scholarship programs, developing and maintaining a publication service, and planning and promoting regional and national conferences. Qualifications: Degree in communication, English, journalism, or equivalent related training and experience; strong writing, technical, organizational, interpersonal, and communications skills; demonstrated ability to understand and communicate technical information to a variety of audiences; experience with MS Word and/or Word Perfect. Preferred: Experience in university research and knowledge of transportation. Experience with Macintosh computers. Familiarity with graphics, presentation, and drawing software, and photographic and desktop publishing skills. Application deadline: July 16, 1996, or until filled. Other responsibilities include overseeing graduate students' research and assisting in the development of proposals and related reports. Qualifications: Advanced degree in civil, electrical, mechanical, industrial, and systems engineering, or related field. Experience conducting advanced research in transportation or related area. Preferred: Experience conducting advanced research in the area of ITS. Demonstrated experience developing successful proposals and managing projects.
