Rakes named Decision Sciences fellow

Terry R. Rakes, professor of management science and information technology, has been selected as a fellow of the Decision Sciences Institute, the institute's highest honor.
Rakes was cited for his outstanding teaching, his research achievements, and his long service to the institute. A winner of several college and university teaching awards, including the 1992 Wine Award, Rakes specializes in decision support systems and information technology, and in solving problems in those areas using artificial intelligence, simulation, multiple-criteria models, and other management-science tools.
He received the institute's 1994 Distinguished Service Award, and is currently a member of its board of directors and editor of its newsletter.
