Engineering hosts industry open house
Spectrum Volume 19 Issue 27 - April 10, 1997
In the interests of bringing together engineering faculty members and industry professionals to develop new approaches for solving industrial problems and to improve technology transfer, the Virginia Tech College of Engineering will hold an open house on June 5.
The purpose of the open house is to develop working partnerships between the engineering faculty and industry.
The college extends an invitation to industry management and engineers throughout the region and the state to spend a day at Virginia Tech, tour research facilities and interact with faculty members. Engineering faculty and staff members will offer consulting and organized clinics on engineering problems during the open house.
Participants will be able to select clinics, laboratory tours, and demonstrations of particular interest; to meet faculty and staff members of their choice; and to obtain information about services provided by Virginia Tech Intellectual Properties, Corporate Research Center, Continuing Education Center, Industry Program Development Office, Economic Development Office, and Virginia's Center for Innovative Technology (CIT).
Events will include a free barbecue lunch.
The open house is sponsored by the College of Engineering and the Blacksburg regional office of CIT.
