WALKING TOURS/GROUP WALKS/LINE DANCING: Join your fellow employees during a group fitness walk, group walking tour, or try your skill at line dancing. The column to the right includes registration information for the group walking tours.
FOOD : A free picnic lunch will be provided and served continuously during the hours listed above. The menu selections range from hamburgers and hot dogs to grilled chicken breasts. There's something for every taste with a wide selection of heart-healthy foods.
TEAM RELAYS: Come cheer on your fellow employees participating in team relays. This year we hope to have twice as many teams competing in an exciting new selection of staff stunts!
OPTIONAL ACTIVITIES: A volleyball net and horseshoe pits will be set up for you and your friends to enjoy at your leisure (weather permitting).
MEMENTOS: A CommonHealth memento will be given to each staff member attending Staff Appreciation Day. In addition, employees participating in the team relay events, group fitness walks, line dancing or a walking tour will receive an additional CommonHealth gift.
BEACHWEAR AND BEACH GEAR: To coordinate with our Beach Bash theme, wear casual picnic clothes with tropical themes, work uniforms or whatever will be comfortable. Bring folding lawn chairs or cushions-- the Field House has a new floor that may be somewhat uncomfortable to sit on. Be sure to bring your sun screen, hats and visors.
PARKING : Because of new construction in and around the Commuter Lot and the Practice Field on Stadium Road, we suggest that you park in the Litton-Reaves parking lot or the remaining portion of the Lane Stadium parking lot . Handicap parking will NOT be available at the Field House. A specially-equipped Blacksburg Transit van will be available for individuals with special needs. Please call Margie Murray at the number below for more information. The campus shuttle will stop at the front of Litton-Reaves on West Campus Drive. Pedestrian traffic will be allowed from the Lane Stadium parking lot to the front of the Field House and from the Litton Reaves parking to the road that surrounds the greenhouses. Further details will be provided at a later date regarding the available parking and pedestrian traffic.
Individuals desiring special accommodations should notify Margie Murray at 231-7111 between 8 a.m. and 5:00 p.m. Monday through Friday. Please respond by May 9 to discuss accommodations. TDD: (540) 231-9460.
