Music in Human Adaptation, an international conference exploring the role of music in human development and function, will be held November 15-17 at the Hotel Roanoke and Conference Center.
Sponsored by Virginia Tech's College of Engineering and Department of Music, the International Arts-Medicine Association, and the Connecticut Music Therapy Alliance, the conference will include 27 workshops, 21 presentations, an exhibit hall, and two concerts, one to be performed by Tech's Audubon String Quartet.
Presentations and workshops will be offered by physicians, musicians, health-care experts, and university faculty members from throughout the U.S. Participants can earn a total of 2.3 continuing-education units from Virginia Tech.
A reduced registration fee of $150 includes attendance of presentations and workshops. The complete fee of $285 also includes all lunches and refreshments, a reception, and conference proceedings.
