Specific subjects of research interest include; electronic materials processing/properties; adhesion; viscoelasticity; glassy or elastomeric polymer behavior and reaction engineering. Qualified applicants must possess a Ph.D. in some field of engineering. The department invites applications for two positions. #111336: Position--Educational Leadership: This position is for an assistant or associate professor, tenure-track, academic year, and is located in Blacksburg with some teaching assignments at Virginia Tech Centers throughout Virginia. Qualifications: (1) doctorate in educational administration, leadership, or supervision, (2) experience in leadership positions in public schools at either the school or central-office levels with the best combination of the following: evidence of a record of research (qualitative preferred), publishing, and grant and contracts related to school-district leadership, evidence of ability to teach graduate-level courses related to district leadership including school construction, evidence of collaborative leadership, (3) ability to advise graduate students and supervise doctoral dissertations, and (4) willingness to serve diverse and special needs students through distance learning and off-campus instruction. #111337: Position--Policy and Policy Research: This position is for an associate professor, tenure-track, academic year and is located in Blacksburg with some teaching assignments at Virginia Tech Centers throughout Virginia.
