Fulton to head enrollment management project

Spectrum Volume 20 Issue 14 - December 4, 1997

Provost Peggy Meszaros has asked Vice Provost John Fulton to give leadership for a new enrollment management system.
Working with Administrative Information Systems in Information Systems, Fulton will be responsible for planning the SCT Banner Strategic Enrollment Management module. The module will be used for enrollment analysis and planning, working closely with Enrollment Services, Institutional Research, Provost Office and the college deans.
"John has led our efforts to amalgamate student enrollment services. This new challenge is an extension of his work in that area. His personal interests and background make him well suited for the devising enrollment management systems," said Meszaros.
Fulton will also give leadership to efforts to analyze and define processes for collecting and maintaining benchmarking data from peer universities on key areas of academic concern such as enrollment planning, faculty productivity, and graduation rate. He will report to Richard Alvarez.
Before coming to Virginia Tech in August 1996, Fulton served as Dean of the College of Arts and Sciences at the University of Missouri-Rolla from 1991-1996 and held a similar position at the University of West Florida from 1988-1991. Beginning his academic career as an Assistant Professor of Mathematical Sciences at Clemson University in 1967, Fulton later served as Department Head from 1978-1988.
