Office of Scholarships and Financial Aid. Assistant Director . This is a professional faculty position, with the primary duty of coordinating the Institutional Quality Assurance Program (verification, annual measurement, management assessment, and quality improvement tasks). Cross-train with and serve as backup for the assistant director for data processing. Coordinate preparation and completion of FISAP and other reports, magazine surveys, and statistical reports. Monitor Experimental Site process. Train and supervise the Customer Service Unit (front desk and receptionist staff), and organize their workflow to ensure customer satisfaction and efficiency. Maintain a caseload of students which involves counseling students and parents on the financial-aid process, awarding and processing aid, and monitoring various audit and error reports for this population of students. Requires master's degree and at least five years progressively responsible financial aid experience, preferably at the assistant-director level. Mastery of financial-aid regulations and programs; excellent supervisory and training skills, and the ability to motivate the staff and provide opportunities for learning in a variety of ways for a variety of levels; multi-tasking of competing priorities and deadlines in a high-stress environment. Spreadsheet and database experience required; knowledge of EXCEL, SAS, and Oracle helpful. Experience with Windows 95 and Microsoft Office preferred. Hands-on experience with the federal Quality Assurance Program and Experimental Sites preferred. SCT-Banner experience helpful. Position is available July 1, 1998. College of Arts and Sciences. Associate Dean for Diversity and Instruction . The college seeks an individual to give leadership and vision to recruitment and retention of a diverse faculty and student body, and to serve as liaison to the College Curriculum Committee. In addition, the individual will serve as college liaison to various university programs and governance committees, and will direct the selection of various student and faculty awards. The individual will work with another associate dean for student concerns within an office of support staff serving students' needs and will report directly to the dean. Research and teaching opportunities exist for candidates who wish these.
