WALKING TOURS/GROUP WALKS: Join your fellow employees during a group fitness walk led by Doug Martin, human resources manager, humorist and historian. Sign up for a group walking tour; walking-tour registration information is provided below.
FOOD: A free picnic lunch will be continuously served during the hours listed above. The menu selections range from hamburgers and hot dogs to grilled chicken breasts. There's something for every taste, with a variety of heart-healthy foods.
TEAM RELAYS: Cheer on fellow employees participating in team relays; they promise to at least exercise your funny bone. New relays have been designed to add to your enjoyment.
OPTIONAL ACTIVITIES: Two volleyball nets and horseshoe pits will be set up outdoors for you and your friends to enjoy at your leisure (weather permitting). In addition, several game booths will be stationed throughout the Field House to test your skills.
MEMENTOS: A CommonHealth memento will be given to each staff member attending Staff Appreciation Day. Employees participating in the team relay events, group fitness walks, or a walking tour will receive an additional CommonHealth gift. Off-site vendors will be back again this year to give out free samples and special prizes.
WHAT TO WEAR--WHAT TO BRING? : Wear casual picnic clothes, work uniforms, or feel free to show us your theatrical skill by competing for the honor of best-dressed clown. Prizes will be awarded to the first-, second-, and third-place winners. In addition, hundreds of folding chairs will be provided for your comfort, but bring your own lounge chair or blanket if you prefer. Be sure to bring your sun screen, hats and visors should the weather be nice enough to be outdoors.

Handicap parking will not be available behind the Field House. A specially equipped Blacksburg Transit van will be available for individuals with special needs. The campus shuttle will be running and will stop at the front of Litton-Reaves on West Campus Drive. Pedestrian traffic will be allowed from the Lane Stadium parking lot to the front of the Field House and from the Litton-Reaves parking lot to the road that surrounds the greenhouses leading to the rear of the Field House.
