University officials have provided the following information regarding religious and ethnic holidays for the 1998-99 academic year:
The first day of Rosh Hashanah (Jewish New Year) will be September 21.
Yom Kippur (Jewish Day of Atonement) falls on September 30.
Diwali (Hindu Festival of Lights) will be October 19.
Thanksgiving falls on Thursday, November 26.
The first day of Ramadan (Islam month of fasting) is December 20.
Christmas, December 25, and New Years Day, January 1, fall on Fridays.
Martin Luther King Day falls on January 18.
Ash Wednesday (Christian lent) begins on February 17.
Palm Sunday is March 28.
Pesah (Jewish Passover) begins April 1.
Good Friday is April 2.
