The Virginia Tech Board of Visitors elected its leadership at its quarterly meeting in August.
James Turner, president and chief operating officer for General Dynamics Corporation headquartered in Falls Church, was elected to a second year as rector. Elected to a second year as vice rector was Joseph Jenkins, executive vice president of Heilig-Meyers Company, headquartered in Richmond. Margie Thomas was re-elected secretary to the board.
The board Executive Committee was also re-elected. In addition to Turner and Jenkins, the Executive Committee will include Linda Pedigo, chief of staff for Congressman Thomas Bliley; Heywood Fralin, CEO for Medical Facilities of America Inc., Roanoke; and Cecil Maxson Jr., retired, Richmond.
